“We provide facilities for foreign publishers to the extent that they welcome Iran in book fairs that they hold in their own countries,” Mohammad-Hossein Saffar Harandi said.
TIBF hosts 100 foreign guests who are active in the publishing industry and invites 35 friendship associates from other countries to the event, he mentioned.
Many countries, including Cuba, China, Brazil, Italy, Russia and Pakistan, take part in the book fair for the first time, he mentioned.
Over 70,000 books on different subjects in different European languages are going on display during the book fair, he mentioned.
The book fair runs from May 6 to 16, except the Subsidized Section of the gala which runs from May 10 to 18, Mohsen Parviz mentioned during the press conference.
TIBF also hosts the 4th edition of Tehran’s world book market during which Iranian publishers and their foreign counterparts can network and exchange their experiences.
