TEHRAN Nov. 24 (Mehr News Agency) – From the beginning of the current crop year, 1,170 ton of Goiter shrimp have been harvested from 588 hectare of hatcheries in the southern Province of Hormozgan.

The figure shows that a total of 58% of shrimp farms have finished their harvesting.

 

General Manager of Fisheries Company of Hormozgan Province (affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad) said here Saturday that the government had ratified a bill to pay exporters of shrimps Rls.5,000 (some 75 U.S. cent) per kilogram as export subsidy.

 

1,007 hectare of the province's land is under cultivation of shrimp.

 

 

Each kilogram of shrimp is priced at Rls.16,000 to Rls.32,500 (some 2 to 4 dollars) right after catching in the farms depending on the size of the creature.
