The Director of Iran's Center of Tea Processing Abdo Alsamad Qaravi announced here Saturday that the Center has received some requests from European countries to export the tea extract.
Qaravi said that the quality of Iranian tea is much better than those from India, and that "the first Iranian tea processing factory" aims to help tea industry to see its glorious days.
He said that changing people's taste from drinking Iranian tea to foreign made ones can be attributed to inappropriate processing of tea leaves, so that dried tea produced in the present tea processing factories is not of high quality,.
There are big amounts of tea in the Tea Organization's stocks left from years ago, which in this way it would be possible to use all of them in making tea extract, the official said.
Tea extract is a kind of natural additive, extracted from tea leaves that can be added to dried tea in order to increase its color, flavor, and taste. It also can be used to make tea powder, which is used in chocolate, ice cream, instant tea, and other foodstuff industries.
