Larijani said the Majlis wants to hold more talks with the European Parliament and the parliaments of individual European Union members.
He also pointed to the need to establish close international cooperation to fight drug smuggling.
“Iran has always paid a great cost for preventing drug trafficking and it is ready to cooperate with the European Union in this regard.”
Larijani also said Iran is ready to cooperate with the European Union on matters of mutual interest.
Undoubtedly, parliamentary talks play a very significant role in “common understanding and the development of ties.”
For his part, Adams expressed hope that parliamentary cooperation between the two countries would be expanded.
He also referred to the common interests of Iran and Britain in the region and called for cooperation between the two states to fight drug trafficking.
The British ambassador expressed hope that there will be new developments in the region with the election of Barack Obama as the U.S. president.
He also called for efforts to strengthen London-Tehran relations.
