TEHRAN, November 18 (Mehr News Agency) -- A delegation from the University of Sorbonne, France has made a visit to the University of Isfahan under the supervision of Professor Doudet.

The delegation became aware of the excellent teaching methods at Isfahan University during conversations with the university’s directors, and they arranged to discuss ways to develop links between the two universities, the University of Isfahan said on Tuesday.

 

Professor Houshang Talebi, president of the University of Isfahan said in a meeting with the delegation of the University of Sorbonne, “Teacher-student exchange, and conducting workshops, as well as cultural-scientific exchange would prepare the intellectual ground for promoting relations between the two universities.”

 

Professor Doudet also said in this meeting, “The University of Sorbonne is one of France’s greatest universities, attaining excellence in such subjects as social and human sciences, human rights, languages, tourism, population studies, and economics.”

 

In the course of the meeting, he suggested that research in the field of Islamic and law of commerce should be conducted jointly between France and Islamic countries.

 

Professor Doudet also discussed the formation of a common consortium of universities offering the same subjects as Iran – such as the universities of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran – with universities in France with the aim of developing common projects.

 

During the meeting, the University of Isfahan arranged for a common seminar in the field of international law, law of commerce and socio-economic relations between Iran and the West to take place.
