TEHRAN, May 12 (MNA) -- First Iran International Congress on Complementary and Traditional Medicine is to be held in Sari, the capital city of the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran, from October 28 to 30, 2008.

Sponsored by Mazandaran University of Medical Science, the congress is scheduled to introduce the complementary traditional medicine to the participants presented with researches carried out on the subject, said secretary of the congress seyyed Abdollah Madani.

 

Basic principles of complementary traditional medicine, causes of the world’s tendency toward complementary traditional medicine, and comparing this kind of medicine with modern kind are among the main issues to be discussed at the three-day congress.

   

Six workshops on knowing pharmaceutical plants, providing traditional medicines, bloodsucking treatment, and bloodletting, as well as aromatherapy are to be held on the sidelines of the event.

 

Researchers and scientific figures from fifteen countries including Netherlands, Jordon, Denmark, India, and Tajikistan are to attend the congress.
