TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki has expressed Iran’s interest to activate North-South corridor via Georgia.

Mottaki who was in Tbilisi to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Georgia’s new President Mikheil Saakashvil on Sunday held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili on the latest regional developments.

 

He said that Iran sees no limit in expansion of comprehensive relations with Georgia and called for boosting cooperation especially in economic areas.

 

Bezhuashvili, for his part, said, “We regard Iran as a great neighbor which plays a key role in maintaining security in Caucasus.”

 

He stated that Georgia is determined to develop comprehensive relations with the Islamic Republic.
