TEHRAN, Dec. 7 (MNA) – Iran and Nigeria signed a trade memorandum in a bid to expand private sector’s economic relations, announced here on Friday the head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM).

Mohammad Nahavandian in a meeting with Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Head Ignatius Ijegua Adaji, highlighted the promotion of his country’s ties with the black continent, adding, “To this end, the ICCIM is trying to establish trade centers in the African nations especially in Nigeria which will facilitate bilateral trade.”

Adaji, for his part, regretted over the sides’ unfamiliarity with each other’s economic potentials and capacities, calling for holding more negotiations and dispatching trade delegations.

He termed his country as a bridge between Iran and African countries’ markets, calling Nigeria the largest market in the west of the continent.

The official asked for sending an Iranian delegation to sign deals in the fields of food, engineering services, and handicraft.
