Davud Danesh-Ja’fari added, “We have to expand our non-oil exports to change oil-dependent economy.”
Referring to 50 percent rise in export, he said that Iran exported $16.3 billion worth of products in last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2007).
He said that the country witnessed only 4 percent rise in imports last year, indicating proper conditions for exports.
Attending the introduction ceremony of Kurosh Parvizian, the new head of Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI), Danesh-Ja’fari added that the bank plays a key role in exports sector.
The official called for more cooperation of domestic producers and banks to boost non-oil exports.
Facilitating the executive process for exporters and focusing on price reduction for both exporters and producers are the strategies which will be performed in the EDBI, said Parvizian.
