The festival, held for two weeks, is the most world-famous and the biggest cinematic festival.
Over 110,000 people saw the films which participated in several sections of the festival last year.
The London Film Festival is the festival of world festivals where all notable films of other international festivals are released for screening.
It is also one of the world’s unofficial film markets and a place for artistic and commercial negotiations of film producers, writers, directors, actors and actresses, critics, and journalists.
Over 300 films from 45 countries of the world are participating in the 47th London Film Festival.
The feature-length films “Abjad” by Abolfazl Jalili, “At Five in the Afternoon” by Samira Makhmalbaf, “Joy of Madness” by Hana Makhmalbaf, “Carpet of the Wind” by Kamal Tabrizi, and “Deep Breath” by Parviz Shahbazi are the five Iranian films which participated in the festival.
The cinema of Europe, World, and Experimental, French revolution and modern British cinema, Museums of cinema, the short films, and animations are the main sections of London festival this year.
Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Meg Ryan, Jane Campion’s “In the Cut” opened the festival on Wednesday night.
The festival will be closed with the screening of Christine Jeffs’ “Sylvia” starring Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow.
