TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (MNA) – US President Joe Biden asked the leaders of the G20 member states to increase pressure on Hamas for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Even though the White House had repeatedly vetoed ceasefire offers during the Gaza war, President Biden promised in his address to the G20 in Brazil on Monday to continue working for a ceasefire in the final weeks of his administration.

A few months ago, Hamas publicly announced that it would accept the ceasefire agreement proposed by Qatar and Egypt, but Israel said that it would not accept such an agreement. Tel Aviv has since rejected any ceasefire plans.
