TEHRAN, March 2 (MNA) -- The Tirana International Hotel in Albania played host to a seminar on Sa’di to pay homage to the world-famous Iranian poet.

 

Iranian Ambassador to Tirana Ali Eqbali-Zarej along with Albanian Deputy Minister for Culture Sussana Torko, the President of Albanian Academy of Sciences Prof. Ylli Popa, and scores of cultural, scientific, and religious figures attended the event.

 

The ceremony, packed with literature enthusiasts, opened with a group of Albanian students performing the two countries' national anthems.

 

Torko praised the works and personality of Sa'di, calling him a respected and famous figure in the Albanian society.

 

The Iranian envoy further referred to the influence of Sa'di's famous works "Golestan" and "Bustan" on Albanian literature, saying, "Sa'di mirrors the Iranian thought, mentality, civilization, spirit, and emotions."

 

Eqbali-Zarej also underlined the reinforcement of cultural ties between the two nations.

 

The program was organized by Sa'di Shirazi Cultural Foundation in collaboration with Albanian Ministry of Culture, Academy of Sciences, and National Center for Document and Archives.
