TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) — Well 23 A of the Kangan Gas Field has become operational, the managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) said here on Wednesday.

The well will produce 2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, Alireza Zeighami added.

Well 23 A and well 23 B were drilled to control a fire that broke out last summer, but plans were then made to utilize them for gas extraction, he explained.

The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), operates onshore oil and gas projects in central Iran.
