TEHRAN, Jun. 05 (MNA) – Iranian oil minister Javad Owji says a number of gas supply projects will be inaugurated in the southeastern province of Sistan-o-Baluchestan in the presence of the acting president Mohammad Mokhber.

Speaking in Tehran after attending a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the oil minister said that supplying Sistan and Balouchestan with natural gas was something like occurrence of a great revolution.

In view of having access to natural gas, it could be said that Sistan abd Balouchestan was a deprived and ignored region, Owji noted, adding fortunately during the 13th administration, which took office in August 2021, a considerable number of towns and villages of the province as well as its power plants and industries were connected to the nationwide gas pipeline network.

“A number of gas supply projects of the province will be inaugurated in the future in the presence of the interim president Mohammad Mokhber”, Owji said.

Iranian president Ebrahim Raeisi, the president of the 13th administration, lost his life in May in the tragic incident of a chopper crash while was returning from the opening ceremony of a dam built on Aras River, flowing along the common border of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic.
