TEHRAN, Apr. 21 (MNA) – An official with the Iranian road ministry said that 14,750,000 tons freights transited through Iran's territory by the Iranian and foreign fleets in 2023 that is the highest record over the past years

14,750,000 tons freights transited through Iran's territory by the Iranian and foreign fleets in 2023 that is the highest record during the previous years, according to Javad Hedayati, the director-general of Transit and International Transportation Bureau at Iran’s Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization (RMTO). 

The performance of previous years in terms of the volume of road transit shows that the highest record was in 2015 with the transit of 12,300,000 tons.

The transit of non-oil goods increased to 9,400,000 tons in 2023, which has grown by 38% compared to 2022, Hedayati added. 

The Iranian official also announced that transit of oil products reached 5,035,000 tons which has increased by 112% compared to 2022.
