TEHRAN, Mar. 23 (MNA) – A Gaza government official has said that over 100 Palestinians have been martyred during recent Israeli attacks on Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip.

Salama Marouf, head of the Gaza Media Office, said on Friday night that several hospital staff members are among those killed, while four patients have lost their lives as their treatment was hindered due to the regime’s attack on the hospital located in Gaza City.

Marouf described the situation inside the hospital as catastrophic.

The newly announced deaths of the patients are in addition to 16 such fatalities announced by Palestinian officials in Gaza since the regime put a siege on Shifa Hospital on March 19.

The regime has announced plans to continue the siege for several more days.

Hamas on Friday condemned the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital, where according to the Gaza Health Ministry 30-thousand displaced Palestinians are taking shelter, saying that the attack is part of the systematic destruction of health facilities in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli regime continued attacks on other parts of the besieged Palestinian territory on Saturday morning, striking areas in the center and the south.

According to Palestinian media, airstrikes hit the central city of Deir al-Balah as well as the southern cities of Rahaf and Khan Yunis.

The strikes in Rafah, which is hosting more than a million Palestinian refugees taking shelter from Israeli attacks in other parts of the strip, left many people dead including at least five children.

At least 32,070 Palestinians have been killed and 74,298 wounded in the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
