TEHRAN, Mar. 19 (MNA) – Rivers have burst their banks in the western provinces of Iran following heavy rain and subsequent flash floods.

As the Iran Meteorological Organization had forcast for western provinces in Iran, heavy fall of rain and resulting flash floods are reported in the western Iranian provinces of Kermanshah, Kordestan, Lorestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.

The roads between several villages in Lorestan have been cut off after they were damaged by flash floods.

The floods have also damaged infrastructure such as water pipes and roads in several parts of those provinces in the west.

The news of flash floods in the western part of the country comes a few weeks after torrential rain and flash floods hit the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, inflicting damages to facilities and infrastructure there.
