TEHRAN, Mar. 09 (MNA) – The spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry strongly condemned the recent action of the Canadian government in sanctioning the CEO of Tehran Metro and a female member of Iranian parliament.

Nasser Kan'ani said that the sanctioning action on the part of Canada is carried out out of political and propaganda goals and in continuation of the North American country's selective approach in dealing with Iran's human rights issues.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman added that if the Canadian authorities are really concerned about the situation of women's rights in the world, it is better them to break their silence towards the continuation of the silence in the face of the genocide and the pressive and painful killing of more than 30,000 Palestinian citizens by the Zionist regime in 5 months, more than 70% of whom are women and children.

He further advised the Canadian authorities to cut off their support to the Zionist criminal regime, take steps towards stopping the world's biggest humanitarian disaster underway in the Gaza Strip.
