TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – Jamshid Andalibi, a well-known Iranian Ney player has died aged 66.

Andalibi learned how to play Ney from a very early age and became a Ney virtuoso. He played in famous Iranain traditional music bands.

His close friends confirmed his death to Mehr's correspondent on Tuesday. 

The Ney is a wind instrument played for 4,500–5,000 years, making it one of the oldest musical instruments still in use.
