TEHRAN, Mar. 04 (MNA) – Iran elections headquarters said Monday that fourteen first candidates secured a seat in the next Parliament from the Tehran constituency while the next 16 seats have to be decided in a runoff.

Mohsen Eslami, the spokesperson for Iran’s election headquarters, told reporters on Monday that 14 candidates went straight to the parliament after vote counting finished on Monday in the Tehran constituency and 32 other candidates which follow the 14 nominees on list will compete for the remaining 16 places in a runoff.

Elections for the next Parliament and the Assembly of Experts were held on Friday. Of the country's 87 million people, more than 61 million were eligible to vote in the elections.
