The military sources, who spoke anonymously, said that the casualties resulted from Israel's launch of 13 airstrikes in Baalbek and the firing of heavy artillery on 18 towns and villages in southern Lebanon.
The sources added that two bodies of Hezbollah members and two injured civilians were taken to a hospital in Baalbek, with three other injured civilians being transported to a hospital in the southern town of Tebnine in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah declared that its fighters had launched attacks on multiple Israeli sites.
The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing increased tension since Oct. 8, 2023, after the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attack on Israel the previous day.
The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 316 people on the Lebanese side, including 214 Hezbollah members and 59 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources.
