TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (MNA) – Local media in Syria reported several new explosions in Damascus, the capital of Syria on Wednesday afternoon.

The Arabic "Sky News" channel reported that several new explosions occurred in the city of "Damascus", the capital of Syria. 

The media reported on Wednesday that the air defense systems of the Syrian army were activated and were intercepting hostile targets in the sky of Damascus.

The Russian news agency "Sputnik" also reported that, "The available information indicates that Israeli fighter jets launched a number of missiles from the occupied Syrian Golan airspace in an attempt to target some places in the suburbs of Damascus."

According to the Sputnik report, the defense systems of the Syrian army repelled this attack and were able to shoot down most of the missiles fired.

Earlier today before the new attack, the Syrian TV channel announced on Wednesday morning that the Zionist regime attacked the residential area of "Kafar Susa" in the city of Damascus with several rockets.

Syrian media reported that at least 2 people were martyred and several others were injured in the attack of the Zionist regime's army in that area.
