TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) – The people of Tunisia have held a rally in the capital Tunis, calling for the expulsion of the US ambassador from the North African country.

According to the Palestinian media reports on Sunday, scores of people gathered and protested in front of the US embassy in Tunis and chanted slogans against Washington and its ambassador.

The Tunisian people also condemned the complicity of Washington and other Western countries in the Zionist regime's genocide in Gaza.

The Health Ministry in Gaza said on Sunday that the death toll from the Israeli regime’s genocidal war against the Palestinians in the besieged territory had surpassed 25,000.

Most of the casualties have been women and children, it added.

The ministry said that 178 Palestinians had lost their lives over the 24 hours to Sunday afternoon as Israeli forces pushed their offensive into southern Gaza and renewed bombardment of residential buildings in the north of the enclave.
