TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) – Local media in Iraq have reported the crash of an American reconnaissance drone in the east of the country.

News sources reported on Thursday night that an American spy drone crashed in Diyala province in eastern Iraq.

Sabeein News Telegram channel reported that an American MQ9 reconnaissance aerial vehicle has crashed in Iraq's Diyala province.

Sabereen reported that the drone took off from the Ali Al-Salem base in Kuwait around 4:00 p.m. and crashed at 6:45 p.m. between the villages of Al-Buri and Al-Anbakiyeh in Diyala province.

Local witnesses published pictures of the moment the American drone crashed in Diyala province.

Iraqi or American official sources have not yet commented on the matter.
