TEHRAN Oct. 5 (Mehr News Agency) – During last Iranian calendar year of 1381 (ended March 21, 2003), Tabriz-based Company of Machine Factory produced 70 to 80 percent of the country’s total machinery equipment valued at Rls.13,000 billion, said Mohsen Salehiniya the deputy of Machinery Industries in Iran’s Ministry of Mines and Industry here Sunday.

Speaking in Tehran’s Third International Industrial Exhibition, he said “Presently, our factories are using only 70 percent of their capabilities while some $1.9b machineries were imported to Iran last year, Salehiniya added.

 

Iran’s Machinery Industry experienced a slight 2-percent growth last year, he stated.

 

“This is hardly comparable to the previous 24-percent increase in the industry’s production rate,” he regretted.
