TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) – The governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin met with his Syrian counterpart telling him that the first Iranian bank in the Arab country will be launched in the near future.

 Farzin held a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Mohammed Issam Hazima on Tuesday where he said that, "It is necessary to develop the monetary and banking cooperation between Iran and Syria proportionate to the increase of trade-economic relations and exchanges and to solve the issues related to the banking exchanges of the merchants of the two countries in the short term."

"Soon, the first Iranian bank will start working in Syria," the CBI governor said

"Increasing banking, commercial relations and joint investments is on the serious agenda of Tehran and Damascus," he added.
