TEHRAN, Nov. 01 (MNA) – Russian air defense units have shot down two Ukrainian drones above western Russia’s Kursk Region that borders Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The Kyiv Regime’s attempt to use two fixed-wing drones for an attack on Russian facilities was thwarted at around 11:30 p.m. Moscow time on October 31, TASS reported citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

"On-duty air defense units intercepted two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles above the territory of the Kursk Region," the ministry added.

Ukrainian troops resorted to drone warfare in the last several months after the loss of several strategic locations and the growing number of casualties.

Military experts stress that Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia pursue no meaningful military goal apart from boosting morale among Ukrainians.
