TEHRAN, Oct. 01 (MNA) – "Sabalan" destroyer broke the record for the number of cruise missiles in the vessels of Iran's armed forces by installing 12 anti-ship cruise missiles on it.

Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Army Navy announced the increase of Sablan destroyer sea cruise missiles.

He said that this destroyer is equipped with 12 anti-ship cruise missiles and this achievement will be unveiled soon.

Weighing about 1500 tons, Sabalan has been equipped with 4 anti-ship cruise missiles Qadir and Qadir, and has participated in 13 naval fleets of the army.

Sabalan destroyer is a member of 24th flotilla, along with the logistics ship "Khark", by passing through the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, the Malacca Strait, and the China Sea entered the world's largest ocean for the first time.

It docked at berth No. 7 of Zhanjiang Port of China's Southern Naval Fleet after sailing 13,000 kilometers and 40 days. During the mission and on the way back, the army fleet stopped at Colombo port in Sri Lanka for the first time.

Currently, Iran's naval forces and the IRGC are equipped with various types of anti-ship cruise missiles with a range of 10 to 1000 km, which have been designed and produced by the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics.
