Mahmud Farrokh-Nia, the manager of the Production Department of Khuzestan Water and Electricity Organization, told MNA on Friday that with the production of this part, the safety of the power plant generators and transformers using this particular system has increased by 100%.
He also said that this new cooling system could prevent all financial damages incurred by system failure and the power plant shutdown.
The transformer coolers are three meters long and 41 centimeters in diameter and those of the generators are three meters long and 62 centimeters in diameter.
Pointing to the fact that the new cooling system is a double-wall transducer with a fine joint between the two plies, Farrokh-Nia said “Before the production of this new system there had always been the possibility of the intermixture of water and oil in the old transformer radiators that consequently caused damages to the system.”
He also referred to increasing the efficiency of the power plant units, cost savings, creating job opportunities, achieving modern technology of production of thermal transducers and preventing the damages incurred by the system failure as other privileges of the new chilling system.
Presently, four cooling systems are produced to be used in the Dez Dam, for the production of which some Rls.548.5 million have been spent; however, Rls.2,632.5 billion have been saved when comparing with the purchase of a similar foreign system.
Iran used to purchase these radiators from Austria, France and Germany.
