Recalling memories of childhood always bring sweet smile on the face, the get-together of schoolmates in the yard once again, chatting with friends, exchanging hopes and wishes for the new school year and thinking of new plans, little projects we had in our little heads, little heads with big, big wishes!
And now a big head with little cravings for those years all flash through our minds in a second when we come out to streets on the first day of Mehr (September 23), and remember all those beautiful days.
We feel like experiencing those days again, reclining in our chairs, awaiting the new teacher to come in, and opening the new books. Our nose being filled with the aroma of new papers, we feel the worrisome approach of exam days, all again and again. All seems to be just a few moments ago, talking with classmates, going to the board answering the teacher’s questions, sometimes getting embarrassed on not knowing the answers, though, and longing for recess to rush to the yard, eat, drink and play. All sweet, sweet days!
Sweet days, weren’t they? The last class bell, and walking on dried yellow, brown and red falling leaves on the way back home, elated by making new friends, and the kind welcome of mom, such impressive memories!!
Those days, the falling dried leaves, the cool breeze, the hustle and bustle of the streets, all invite us to open the door, rush out to the streets and watch the school children getting ready for the new school year, waiting to hear the school bell again. Mehr rings the bell in mind, doesn’t it!
