TEHRAN, July 7 (MNA) -- Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said here on Friday if the privatization scheme is implemented completely, poverty and discrimination will be uprooted.

“To secure social justice and uproot poverty and discrimination, the major policies must be put into force,” Jannati told worshipers at the Friday prayers, referring to a decree the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued last week for privatization of state companies.

The plan aims to privatize state industries by amending Article 44 of the Constitution that has banned private ownership of state institutions.

The Guardian Council (GC) secretary urged the private and cooperative sectors to enter the stage to help materialize the goals of the plan.

He stated that he has ordered an executive committee to be established at the GC to follow up the materialization of the Leader initiative.
