TEHRAN Sept. 13 (Mehr News Agency) – The winner of NIOTC’s July tender for buying 100,000-ton oil tankers will be chosen in near future, Head of Planning Office of National Iranian Oil Tanker Company (NIOTC) Abdulsamad Ta'aghol announced here on Sunday.

The five tankers worth roughly $40 million each, $200 million in total, are expected to join Iranian fleet until the end of 2007 to deliver gas liquids extracted from Southern Pars oilfield.

A significant number of domestic and foreign companies including Japan, Korea, and China, have submitted their documents, Ta'aghol said, adding, “We hope one of the Iranian companies will win the contract.”

NIOTC will call for a new tender to buy 12 vessels delivering chemicals in the future, the official concluded.
