The secretary of the seminar, Mohammad-Jafar Yahaqi, said that programs are to be held in two sections from May 13 to 15.
“The scientific section will be held on May 13 in Shiraz and the second (art) section is to be held in Mashhad,” he added.
Yahaqi, who is a professor at Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, stated that the event will highlight research on Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh and several researchers have been invited to participate, including Jalal Khaleqi Motlaq from Germany, Mahmud Omid-Salar from the United States, Mohammad Nuri Osmanov from Russia, as well as Iranians Saeid Hamidian, Iraj Afshar, Azizollah Joveini, and Abolfazl Khatibi.
Lectures, Maqami music concerts, plays, and curtain reading of the Shahnameh (in which a narrator recites an episode from the epic that has been painted on a curtain) are some of the other programs, he said.
He also announced that the opera puppet show “Rustam and Sohrab” directed by Behruz Gharibpur will be staged for one week at Hasheminejad Hall in Mashhad.
