TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) -- The winners of the 21st Fajr International Music Festival were announced here on Friday.

 

National music instrument makers Mahmud Farahmand and Yusef Purya, violinist Khosro Rahimian, and violist Fereidun Zarrinbal received plaques of honor.

 

Flautist Fazel Jamshidi, choral group conductor Ebrahim Nazari, cellist Majid Esmaeili, percussionist Mahmud Montazam Sedqi, oboist Hossein Tajik, and singer Mohammadreza Sadeqi were also awarded at the ceremony.

 

Plaques also went to Yusef Ashrafi, Maziar Heidari, and Shahram Tavakkoli of Iran’s National Orchestra.

 

In the international section, the golden harps went to Herbert Karimi-Masihi and Morris Erisco.

 

In addition, Iranian virtuosos Homayun Khorram, Fereidun Hafezi, Nasrollah Nasehpur, Shahin Farhat, Simon Ayvazian, Farid Omran, Hassan Nahid, and Khachik Babaian were also honored during the closing ceremony.

 

The 21st Fajr International Music Festival was held in Tehran from January 11 to 20.
