“The house is currently being restored and will be ready for the upcoming year,” said SBCHTD Director Hassan Sargazi.
The Leader’s Office has provided part of the funding for the museum, he added.
The house had previously been added to Iran’s National Heritage List.
Ayatollah Khamenei was exiled to Iranshahr, in northeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province, in 1977 after he delivered a speech against the shah’s regime in Mashhad. He returned home in 1978 when the Islamic Revolution swept across Iran.
