TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – The Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said Fri. that in addition to a new destroyer, which will be unveiled next week, a 100% domestically-made advanced submarine will also be displayed in the near future.

The Commander of Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi made the remarks on a visit to Golestan province during the Friday prayers ceremony in Gorgan.

Khanzadi said that since the Islamic Revolution, Iran has constantly tried to become self-sufficient  in producing necessary military equipment, criticizing the pre-Revolution era for relying on foreign-made military capabilities.

He further noted that Iran in the past used to import even its barbed wire but it now meets its military demands domestically.

The Iranian navy commander said that the US sanctions will fail as Iran has got used to sanctions during the last 40 years.

He said Iran has made a lot of progress in maritime fields since the Revolution, adding “the Navy has been able to send 57 naval flotilla to the seas during the past 10 years.”

Khanzadi further reported that a new destroyer will be unveiled next week, while adding that in the near future, a 100% domestically-made advanced submarine will be displayed to the public.
