Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi noted that “some may think that the terrorist attack in Ahvaz has harmed the Islamic Republic”, but in fact, the incident has made us more united than before.
The general stressed that the enemies and the global arrogance have made every effort to inflict damage upon the Islamic Republic during the past 40 years, but none of their evil plans has come to an avail.
On 22 September 2018, terrorists attacked a military parade in the southwestern city of Ahvaz. The shooters killed 25 and wounded dozens of people, including soldiers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and civilian bystanders.
The attack was carried out by the Al-Ahwazi terror group, whose recruits are believed to be scattered in several European countries, including Denmark.
Danish police announced today (Nov. 7) that it had arrested three members of an Iranian opposition group on suspicion of having praised those behind the attack.
Police spokesman Bjoerke Kierkegaard said all three are members of the Al-Ahwazi movement.
