Iran's national wushu team was crowned world’s champions for the first time in the 9th Sanda World Cup on Sunday.
The two-day competitions was held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, where Iranian team, comprising of 8 practitioners in both men's and women’s divisions, succeeded in clenching the championship title after collecting seven gold medals and one silver.
In a statement on Sunday night, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi extended his congratulations to the country’s wushu practitioners, as well as the Iranian nation and the sports community.
He also wished for further victories and success for the national wushu team.
