TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has expressed regret over a deadly train accident in northern India, which killed and wounded dozens of people.

In a statement on Friday, Ghasemi also offered sympathy to the Indian nation and government and the bereaved families of the victims.

At least 50 people were killed and dozens more injured on Friday after a commuter train traveling at high speed ran through a crowd of people gathered on railway tracks to celebrate a Hindu festival in northern India, according to local police said.
