TEHRAN, Aug. 07 (MNA) – The first female Pakistani ambassador to Iran met with Iranian foreign minister and presented her copy of credential to him.

Pakistani newly-appointed ambassador Rifat Masood met and presented her credential to Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday morning.

Rifat has a good command of Farsi and is one of the experienced Pakistani diplomats, replacing former Pakistani ambassador Asif Durrani.

She has previously served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Norway, UK, Germany, Turkey, and France.

She is a graduate from Sheffield University in Britain.

Separately, the Iranian foreign minister met with the new secretary general of Inter-Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries.

Meanwhile, Zarif held a farewell meeting with the ECO Secretary General Halil Ibrahim Akca this morning.
