TEHRAN, Aug. 02 (MNA) – In a telephone conversation on Thu., Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian conferred on the latest developments regarding the 2015 nuclear deal dubbed JCPOA.  

The telephone conversation was held between the two top diplomats as FM Zarif is in Singapore to take part in the 51st ministerial meeting of the ASEAN.

Zarif and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian conferred on the latest developments regarding the Iran nuclear deal following the US unilateral and unlawful pullout from the international agreement. They also discussed ways to ensure that Iran would continue to enjoy the economic benefits envisioned by the JCPOA despite the US reinstatement of sanctions.

Apart from attending the ASEAN meeting, Zarif is also slated to sign the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation with ASEAN.

He has already held separate, sideline meetings with a number of representatives from participating countries, including Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, his Filipino counterpart Alan Peter Cayetano, Japanese FM Taro Kono, and Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
