TEHRAN, Jun. 25 (MNA) – Iranian president has congratulated 'glorious elections in Turkey' in a phone call with newly re-elected Erdogan, calling for developing ties in all fields.

According to Iran's Presidency official website, in a phone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkeyon Monday, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered him congratulations on this re-election and said “holding of glorious elections in Turkey in full peace and security is a pleasure for the Iranian nation and government.” 

Rouhani went on to refer to the enormous turnout of the Turkish in the elections as a sign of their awareness during the critical regional and global junctures and said “through holding this glorious election, people of Turkey showed the world that they are able to display and implement democracy in its best in an Islamic country.”

He added “the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to take more serious steps for development of relations and acceleration of implementation of Tehran-Ankara agreements in the new term.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, in turn,  appreciated Rouhani’s congratulatory message and stressed attempts to further develop political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

He also expressed hope that in the new term, cooperation and correlations between Iran and Turkey further promote to help achieve common goals and fully implement agreements and cooperation.
