TEHRAN, Jun. 23 (MNA) – Ali Akbar Salehi, the Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, said Fri. if Iran does not achieve its goals in the JCPOA, the deal cannot continue.

Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks in a meeting in Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) attended by a number of Norwegian foreign ministry officials and NUPI scholars and researchers as well as representatives of Norwegian institutes.

Salehi hailed Iran’s efforts in line with the world peace and security, saying that the nuclear deal known as the JCPOA was signed as part of those efforts.

The Iranian nuclear chief pointed out the hard job to reach the multilateral JCPOA, adding that the deal did not only answer the world powers’ concerns about Iran’s nuclear capabilities but also it answered the needs and rights of Iran's people.

He described the preservation of the nuclear deal as a test for the international community and stressed “if Iran's goals are not achieved, it would be impossible to keep it (the deal) alive” as sanctions and preserving the deal do not go together.

Meanwhile, the Iranian top nuclear official pointed to US officials’ hostile and hypocritical approach to Iran, adding that the Americans alongside the Israelis are going to hinder the nuclear deal.

He went on to refer to Iran’s approach to regional issues, saying that dialogue between the major regional powers was the only solution to the problems of the region and beyond.
