TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (MNA) – In his 2017 report on the implementation of UN resolution 2231, Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, has rejected the previous US media reports saying Iran is violating the resolution.

The US media outlets had previously reported that the German intelligence organizations had found evidence that Iran is trying to achieve missile and nuclear technologies.

Last month, the US’s Fox News claimed to have received reports by three German intelligence organizations showing that Iran was close to buy illegal items, materials, and technologies that could be used in the missile and nuclear programs.

Fox News quoted a German intelligence organization saying Iran made 32 attempts to buy such technologies between October and September.

The UN Chief’s report says “the German federal government, in its contacts with the UN Secretary-General, including the meetings in early November 2017 reminded the results of the 2016 report by the Federal Constitution Court (as the guardian of the German federal system).” According to the 2016 report, "as far as the Federal Constitution Court can verify, no violation of the Comprehensive Joint Plan of Action has taken place."

“The German federal government informed the UN Secretary General on November 27, 2017 that there is no evidence that Iran has done actions in violation of the paragraph 2 of Annex B of the resolution 2231,” Guterres was quoted as saying by Iranian Fars News Agency.

The Iranian news outlet has obtained a copy of the UN Secretary General report on the implementation of resolution 2231(2015).
