KABUL, Dec. 10 (MNA) – At least five insurgents were killed and three others injured during the Afghan forces airstrikes in Helmand province, south of Afghanistan on Saturday, the defense ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

"Afghan air forces targeted the hideouts of militants in Sangin district of Helmand province on Saturday, killing five militants and injuring three others," the statement said.

During the raids, eight hideouts of militants and ammunition cache were completely destroyed, the statement added.

Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
