The First Vice President posted a message on his Instagram account today saying “honorable victory of the National Weightlifting Team of our country and the achievement of the world championship title in Anaheim, the US has brought joy and happiness to the people of Iran and, it proved the competence of the youth of this great land once again.”
The country’s first vice president adds “I sincerely congratulate this glorious victory to each and every one of the members of the National Weightlifting Team, the families of these beloved men, coaches and other people who were involved in this victory, the sports community of the country and the great nation of Iran, and I will pray for them all.”
Iranian weightlifters won their first World Weightlifting Championship, which was held in Anaheim, Los Angeles, CA, USA .Iran's National Weightlifting Team entered the world championship with 8 weightlifters, who eventually won 5 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals and with 509 points were crowned for the first time.
