During the press conference which was held Wednesday in Damascus, General Ayoub protested against the entry of Turkish military to Syrian soil and said “Turkish army’s entry to Syria’s soil is against Astana agreement and counter to all international laws. We have a right to stand against Turkish army in our soil.”
The two sides also discussed the relations binding the two friendly armies and the mutual desire to enhance these relations and to open new prospects for developing them in the best interest of the two countries and armies.
The viewpoints were identical on most of the discussed issues, particularly with regard to confronting terrorism and the challenges facing the resistance axis.
Major General Bagheri noted that Iran has always stood beside Syria in fighting terrorism, despite the imposed sanctions. “Brotherhood and cooperation between Iran and Syria has lived on for almost 40 years, I’m here in Syria to announce that we stand beside one another in the fight against terrorism.”
Putting emphasis on the territorial integrity of the region’s countries, Bagheri held that those who intend to conduct military operations in other nations, must do so with regard to the county’s territorial integrity and upon the invitation of its government.
For his part, Lt. Gen. Ayoub said “We held plenary talks which included a comprehensive assessment of all the current developments, and we discussed in details the relations binding our armies and the mutual desire to enhance these relations.”
He affirmed that the Takfiri terrorist project “will end and the war against terrorism will continue till eliminating it completely and restoring security and stability to all the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic.”
