The Pakistani premier made the remark on Thursday after referring to his recent meeting with President Hassan Rouhani in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and his 3-year-ago meeting with Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in Tehran.
Mr. Abbasi hailed the approach of Iranian Leader for strengthening ties with eastern neighbor Pakistan referring to the points made by Ayatollah Khamenei in the meeting with former Pakistani PM. During the visit of Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Tehran in May 2014, Mr. Abbasi was a member of entourage.
“With increasing the number of Pakistani armed forces in the borders shared by Iran, I am assured that we will witness significant curb in terrorist grouplets activities and major rise in the stability and serenity of those areas,” ascertained the Pakistani head of government, re-vowing the full commitment of Pakistan in establishing security in shared borders areas and fighting Pakistan-based terror militias.
The Iranian diplomat, also in this meeting, for his part, delivered the greetings of Iran’s President Rouhani and reassured that the prospect of bilateral ties between Tehran and Islamabad is bright.
