“Regional issues should be resolved through dialogue and interaction, and we are against any pressure or threat posed against our neighbors,” said the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohamad Javad Zarif, on Monday, while receiving Qatari Ambassador to Tehran, Ali bin Ahmed Ali al-Sulaiti.
The Iranian top diplomat reiterated that Iran’s foreign policy in the region is clear and known to everybody.
Developing bilateral ties in areas of economy and trade was another area of discussion between the two diplomats.
Since late in August, Qatar resumed its ties with Iran resending its ambassador to open its diplomatic mission in Tehran. After Saudi embassy in Tehran was attacked by protesters angry with the prosecution of Shia cleric in the kingdom, Qatar joined the other allies of Saudi Arabia in withdrawing their ambassadors to Tehran.
