TEHRAN, Sep. 11 (MNA) – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif as head of a high-ranking delegation has held talks Monday on bilateral and regional issues with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif arrived in Tehran Monday morning for a one-day visit to confer with his counterpart Zarif, President Hassan Rouhani and VP for Economic Affairs Mohammad Nahavandian on political and economic relations as well as the latest international and regional developments.

The focus of his visit is to hold consultations with Iranian officials on the US new strategy in Afghanistan which prolongs the presence of American troops for another four years.

Asif is accompanied by National Security Advisor of Pakistan Nasser Khan Janjua, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, and Additional Secretary (United Nations and Economic Cooperation) Tasneem Aslam on this trip.
